Soul Journey

43_Soul Journey - Root

The Kabbalah represents the mystical journey of the soul as it descends through the Tree of Life to manifest into human form and then ascends to spiritual oneness. The Tree of Life diagram is revealed within the Flower of Life matrix.

Each circle on the Tree of Life is called a Sefirot (emanation of divine will). There are ten Sefirot that mirror each other as they reveal and receive information for the soul/psyche. The Sefirot challenge and support the soul/psyche as it travels up and down the Tree of Life, providing insights along the path. The left branch represents the mysteries of the moon in the darkness of night: the right represents the forces of the sun in day light. The trunk is the neutral, self-giving one.

The task is to know one’s self as a human grounded on earth.  From this place of awareness, one can embrace their humanness and travel up the Tree of Life to reunite and remember being an infinite soul.  This is called the “way of the return.” When the psyche/soul attains Da’at, it achieves unity consciousness and is able to comprehend the infinite nature of Ein Sof, the infinite space beyond the Tree.

The Tree of Life diagram was inspired by the seven-branched menorah described in Exodus 25: 31-40. It is based on an almond tree representing the seven “watchers” or planets: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Saturn. This can be interpreted as the seven chakras of divine light within.

Message: Multiple paths are in front of us now. We are being asked to make a choice. Remember that each path comes with its own lesson; therefore, there is not a right or wrong path. Follow our heart and we will find our path.

“We do not see things as they are. We see them as we are.”  -Talmud –

The Tree of Life diagram is modeled after the Menorah.  – Exodus 25: 31-40

“He made the menorah of pure gold. He made the menorah of beaten work. Its base, its shaft, its cups, its buds, and its flowers were of one piece with it. There were six branches going out of its sides: three branches of the menorah out of its one side, and three branches of the menorah out of its other side: three cups made like almond-blossoms in one branch, a bud and a flower, and three cups made like almond-blossoms in the other branch, a bud and a flower: so for the six branches going out of the menorah. In the menorah were four cups made like almond-blossoms, its buds and its flowers; and a bud under two branches of one piece with it, and a bud under two branches of one piece with it, and a bud under two branches of one piece with it, for the six branches going out of it. Their buds and their branches were of one piece with it. The whole thing was one beaten work of pure gold.”

Soul Body

The soul body generates electromagnetic energy in the form of visible light, which is interconnected with our chakras. This energetic field, often referred as our “aura,” changes based on our emotional or physical well-being. The word aura comes from the Sanskrit words, aur and wer, meaning to “raise or hold suspended.” In yogic tradition, Kundalini energy or “serpent power” rises from the root chakra to the crown.

Serpents are ancient symbols of transformation and growth that represent the harmonious duality of life and death, light and dark, good and evil. In Hebrew, these “serpents of fire and light” were known as seraphim, the angelic beings who protected the “throne of god” in the Seventh Heaven.

In Judaic mysticism, Uriel is the archangel of wisdom, who gave the book of secrets to Metatron. In Kabbalistic thought, this wisdom is the way of the return through the “Tree of Life”.

In Greco-Roman tradition the two serpents on the Caduceus of the messenger gods Hermes and Mercury, were symbols of peaceful power and diplomacy. In alchemy, two serpents represented the balance of opposing forces. This is similar to the Taoist philosophy of yin-yang. Yin is the silvery moon energy (female/night) that receives light. Yang is the golden sun energy (male/day) that penetrates dark. They create life in a harmonious dance between chaos and peace.

By imagining these two serpents of light moving in harmony through the seven worlds of our chakras we can create balance within our self.

Message: This is a time to create balance in all areas of life. If we are feeling stuck or are in chaos, remember that this is temporary, for all things change. Imagine being at peace with change as an opportunity to create a new way of being. By connecting with our chakras, we can improve our internal flow of life force energy, and find the peace we need within us.

“It is not the body, nor the personality, that is the true self. The true Self is eternal. Even on the point of death we can say to ourselves. My true Self is free. I cannot be contained.” – Marcus Aurelius –

Soul Spectrum

Soul Spectrum

Soul spectrum refers to the chakra’s six spectral colors plus white light that vibrate throughout the energetic light body. The light body is invisible to the human eye, yet can be felt through subtle touch. Light is created by the Sun, which generates an electro-magnetic spectrum of light made up of various frequencies and wavelengths.

This electro-magnetic spectrum represents less than 5% of all matter. Only 2.3% of this 5% is seen as visible white light. Visible white light is created by bands of monochromatic light or the spectral colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. Frequencies of light higher than violet are invisible to the naked eye, such as ultra violet “above violet”, X-rays and gamma rays.

Lower frequencies such as microwaves, radar waves, television and radio waves fall under what we call infrared or below red, which are also invisible to the human eye.

Black is not a spectral color, it’s the absence of light.

Message: It is time for us to widen our perspective on life by seeing that nothing is just black or white.  Between light and dark there are an endless variety of tones and colors that are reminding us to honor all viewpoints and all living beings.  Explore the full spectrum of possibilities and be open to all options available to us. Honor the darkness as well as the light, for both will help us radiate with confidence and love.  Connect with our luminous nature and let our colorful spirit shine!

“Nature always wears the colors of the spirit.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Soul Essence

Soul Essence

The Soul’s Essence is love, which is shared through the silent language of the soul. The essential nature of being human is to share our life with others. Our soul transcends ordinary reality by communicating our emotions without words. Flowers have also spoken this silent language of the soul for they awaken a sense of wonder within us.

The language of flowers was used to convey secret messages that could not be spoken in public. All flowers have a language, but roses hold a special place in our hearts. They are ancient symbols of love and beauty.

Roses have been identified with goddesses such as Isis (Egyptian), Aphrodite (Greek) and Venus (Roman).

The essence of rose is the most precious essential oil on Earth. It takes 30 roses to make one drop of oil.  Rose oil is deeply connected to the soul and has been called the Mystic Rose. Prayer beads in Hindu, Buddhist, Christian and Islamic traditions have been created from crushed rose petals.

Message: Visualize our soul as a flower by allowing ourself to blossom and be seen. Listen to the silent language of our soul and see that in the center it is filled with love. Our soul’s essence is to be seen and shared. Life is a reflection of us and we are the one’s creating that reflection. Embrace our soul’s essence as we release, renew, rebirth and rejoice in the life and love we are sharing!

“If you’ve never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom.” – Terri Guillemets

Soul Sound

Soul Sound

The language of our soul is created by the vibrations in our chakras. Each chakra resonates to a sound or vibration when vocalized as a mantra (prayer).  When you vocalize a sound such as a Bija (seed) mantra you connect with the energetic vibration of that chakra. The Sri Yantra is the visual form of the mantra AUM. AUM is seen as the essence of creation and oneness, within Hindu & Buddhist philosophy. The Sri Yantra represents the merging of Shiva (male) and Shakti (female) energies to achieve spiritual union between the mind, body and soul. This awakens our awareness of the creative life force energy within us.

Vibration can be felt without being heard. Our breath creates vibration, our heartbeat creates vibration. These vibrations resonate within us, connecting us with the resonance of earth and the universe. The science of Cymatics and Schumann’s Resonance explores these vibrations as electro-magnetic waves or frequencies of invisible energy that affect us and our world.

We are most at peace when our heart beats in rhythm with nature because we are, in fact, interconnected with it. The advent of electronics has filled our “airspace” with invisible frequencies that can influence these connections.

Message: Take time to listen to the sounds in our life and feel if they align with our soul. Go out in nature, without electronic devices, and connect with the rhythms we share with all that is around us. Sound is vibration and we are vibrational beings.  Find our soul’s voice and use it for good.

“Music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for the education of its virtue.” – Plato

Soul Tree

Soul Tree

The Soul Tree reminds us to look through the lens of our soul to see that we are interconnected as one with all. The Soul Tree reminds us that the connection we seek, has and will forever be within us. We are united through our shared roots as we stand on earth and reach for the stars. This desire for connection has inspired epic stories that are etched in our hearts. The Soul Tree is also known as the: Axis Mundi, World Tree, Cosmic Tree and the Tree of Life. It runs through the center of Earth, connecting us to the center of the Milky Way. The Anima Mundi or World Soul connects us to soul of the universe. As humans looked up to the night sky, they noticed seven “stars” that moved in contrast to the fixed stars.

These seven “wanderers” were identified as divine beings who watched over earth. The number seven became associated with sacred order. The ancient Mesopotamians were the first recorders of their stories, which later inspired the Hebrew concept of God. Homer, a Greek poet is credited with writing the lliad and the Odyssey. He saw them as the Titans & Olympians who ruled and taught humanity. The Romans associated them with the seven days of the week and named each day in honor of the deity associated with it.

Seven Wanderers – Seven Days of the Week – Ruling Deities (Partial list)

  1. Moon – Monday – Moon’s Day: (German-Mani) (Roman-Luna/Diana) (Greek-Artemis/Selene) (Sumer-Nanna)
  2. Mars – Tuesday – Tyr’s Day: (Norse-Tyr son of Odin) (Roman-Mars) (Greek-Aries) (Sumer-Nergal)
  3. Mercury – Wednesday – Wodan’s Day: (German-Wodan) (Norse-Odin) (Roman-Mercury) (Greek-Hermes) (Sumer-Enki)
  4. Jupiter – Thursday – Thor’s Day: (Norse-Thor) (Roman-Jupiter) (Greek-Zeus) (Sumer-Enlil)
  5. Venus – Friday – Freya’s Day: (Norse-Freya) (German-Eostre) (Roman-Venus) (Greek-Aphrodite) (Sumer-Inanna)
  6. Saturn – Saturday – Saturn’s Day: (Roman-Saturn) (Greek-Cronus) (Sumer-Ninurta)
  7. Sun – Sunday – Sun’s Day: (German-Sunna) (Latin-Sol) (Roman-Helios) (Greek-Apollo, Helios) (Sumer-Utu)

Message: Look deeper into the roots of our present situation to uncover insights that will help us move forward. We are not alone on this journey in life. This is a time to decide what feels right to our soul. There are many paths in front of us now.

Soul Light

Soul Light

Soul Light connects us to our cosmic source. Trees have served as connectors of our collective soul as they pointed toward the center of the night sky to help us find our way. The Axis Mundi (World Tree) and Anima Mundi (World Soul) connect us to our universal soul. During the day our source of light comes from the Sun, in the center of our solar system. Our Soul Light comes from within us, anchored by a mythical tree connecting us to the cosmos. As humans studied the night sky, they observed a stationary star in the Northern Hemisphere that other stars rotated around. This star became known as the North Star or Pole Star.

Trees were natures original compasses that inspired humans to explore and record the movements of the sun, moon and stars.

Polaris, our current Pole Star, will come closest to the center of our actual North Pole in 2100. Polaris will then slowly begin to move away as another Pole Star will take its place. Pole Stars change over a period of 25,800 years (also known as a Platonic Year). This is caused by the earth’s rotational wobble known as the precession of the equinoxes. The constellation Draco (dragon) contained Thuban, the previous pole star. Draco inspired many mythological stories of dragons and feathered serpents that continue to shine a light into our shared history.

Ring of North Stars and their Constellations

(These dates are when each star reaches its peak position)

Past North Stars

  • Vega – 12,000 BCE – Constellation Lyra (Lyre)
  • Thuban – 3000 BCE – Constellation Draco (Dragon)

Present North Star

  • Polaris – 2100 CE – Constellation Ursa Minor (Bear)

Future North Stars

  • Errai – 4000 CE – Constellation Cepheus (King)
  • Alderamin – 7500 CE – Constellation Cepheus (King)
  • Denab – 10,000 CE – Constellation Cygnus (Swan)
  • Vega – 14,000 CE – Constellation Lyra (Lyre)

Message: We are beings of light that is interconnected with everything around us. Radiate our light to illuminate our life and our world. The source of our light comes from our soul. Its fuel is love. It is time to love the light within us and believe in our highest potential.

“You have no need to travel anywhere. Journey within yourself and bathe in the splendor of your own light.” – Rumi
