Intention of Self

Container of Life

The intention of self represents the beginning point of life, when the unmanifested soul plants its intentionto become manifest. The soul chooses its parents and decides where to plant its roots. The sacred circle or container of life is symbolic of the root chakra.

Many ancient sages saw the circle as the place of ultimate creation; your soul sees it as pure potential. The root chakra is the place that represents the archetype of life. The eternal seed of life impregnates the eternal womb of life to give birth to all life.

The root chakra is an intentional place for creating a safe and nurturing place for the soul to manifest andbecome human. It’s only by becoming human that a soul can experience itself in all levels ofconsciousness. The human body allows the soul to explore and feel life in multiple dimensions.

Message: We have learned a great deal from our past, which has given us the ability to sense our soul’s intention. Work with our root chakra as we visualize a container filled with rich fertile soil. It is time to heal and make peace with the wounded stories of our ancest0rs. The container of life has the ability to transform these stories into life-giving energy that recharges our soul for the journey ahead. Be open to new beginnings as we reconnect with our soul’s purpose.

“Your inner purpose is to awaken. It is as simple as that. You share that purpose with every other person on the planet-because that is the purpose of humanity.” – Eckhart Tolle

Awareness of Self

Portal of Life

The self, releases from the dark womb of its mother to travel through the portal of life, emerging into the world of light. In that moment, when the first breath is drawn, the soul is ignited and the awareness of self begins.

This immediate awareness of separation from the warm watery world of the womb informs the self to survive. Individuation of self develops within the first seven years of life. It is during this time that the child may remember its self as a soul, but the desire to thrive and feel loved often over shadows the desire of the soul.

As a child becomes aware of its self as human, they become less aware of their soul. The self begins to separate its self from its soul to claim its individual identity.

Message: We may have become disconnected from our soul’s purpose for reasons that are hidden in our shadows. Look into our shadows and fears to see the insights our soul holds.  Judging ourself or others will further separate us from ourself.  Try to see that light and dark can exist in perfect harmony.

“This meeting with oneself is, at first, the meeting with one’s own shadow. The shadow is a tight passage, a narrow door, whose painful constriction no one is spared. But one must learn to know oneself in order to know who one is. For what comes after the door is a boundless expanse full of unprecedented uncertainty. It is the world of water, where I am indivisibly this and that; where I experience the other in myself and the other than myself experiences me.” – Carl Jung

Unconscious Self

Seed of Life

The unconscious self hides in the shadows of our internal sun, within the solar plexus chakra. The shadow is often referred to as a person’s dark side. These aspects of the unconscious self don’t want to be seen or identified.

Just as a seed holds the potential of the flower so does the shadow hold the potential of the self.  The shadows of the self often stem from the anima (feminine desire within men) or animus (masculine desire within women). By shedding light on these shadows their hidden potential can be seen.

To awaken we must become conscious of what we are hiding. By loving the shadow self without judgment, past wounds can be healed and released and the self can become fully known.

Message: Our fear of looking at the shadow stories of our life no longer serve us. What we are hiding from is causing more harm than good. Make peace with our shadows by learning from them. We have the courage, confidence and compassion we need to see the insights they hold. Trust that we are now ready to release any fear or anxiety that we are not good enough or strong enough. This is a time of new beginnings and an opportunity to heal what we thought was impossible. These insights will move us forward with a renewed sense of clarity and purpose.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” – Carl Jung

Conscious Self

Flower of Life

The heart is the place of the conscious self. The heart generates an electromagnetic field that is 60 times greater than the brain. This subtle yet powerful energy field can be felt several feet away from a person’s body between individuals. The heart is a sensory organ that has the ability to learn, remember and make independent decisions.

The conscious self is aware of this dynamic and engages the heart in an ongoing dialogue with the rest of the body.  Shamans and seers, “see with their hearts instead of their eyes.”  The conscious self sees the heart and soul as one.

To become fully conscious requires one to see the bigger picture of their life. We need to look at the wounded parts of ourself as well as the healed aspects of life. If we choose to only see our happy memories we limit our awareness of our full potential. Consciousness from the heart requires compassion and non-judgment in order to see the wisdom or insight that come from challenging experiences. By seeing our selves as whole is to be conscious of who we are, who we have been and who we are becoming.

Message: Become more conscious of ourself by connecting with our heart instead of our mind.  See with our heart instead of our eyes. Trust the inner voice deep in our soul and connect to our true self. Embrace our life and all of its potential.  Be fully aware of any opportunities for love that may be unfolding for us now.

“To have an open heart is to be fully awakened and truly alive.” – Vito Santana

Collective Unconscious

Fruit of Life

The collective unconscious is held within the shared stories, memories, instincts, and experiences common to all humans.

Carl Jung saw these patterns as archetypes that were manifested through dreams and behaviors. These collective shadows are influenced by ancestral experiences that shaped science, religion and morality.

The throat chakra holds the stories of our collective unconscious. These stories were passed on through generations of storytellers. The throat holds the archetypal wounds of man and woman, etched in the shadow of the psyche.

By shedding light on the shadowy stories held within the collective unconscious we see them for what they are. From here we can begin to rewrite the stories and shed light for others to heal. The goal is to awaken the collective unconscious to become conscious of our choices and heal these old stories to create a better world.

Message: It is time for us to reclaim the wisdom that is within us. Look at the old stories of our life and see the wisdom hiding among the fears and gifts. This will help us to speak our truth and share it with others from a place of peaceful power.  Words spoken with love and wisdom are the most powerful gifts we can give to the world.

“The collective unconscious – so far as we can say anything about it at all – appears to consist of mythological motifs or primordial images, for which reason the myths of all nations are its real exponents. In fact, the whole of mythology could be taken as a sort of projection of the collective unconscious” – Carl Jung

Collective Conscious

The collective conscious is a set of shared beliefs, ideas and moral attitudes that operate as a unifying force within society. This occurs when the anima (feminine desire within men) and animus (masculine desire within women) comes into balance and harmony with each other. By awakening and healing the archetypal stories held in the collective unconscious mind we can move forward into collective consciousness. As the collective consciousness grows, the collective unconscious diminishes until we become unified, whole and healed.

To awaken the collective consciousness requires us to step out of fear and learn to trust in the lanquage of our heart. By opening our intuitive third eye we can begin to connect to others is ways we had not thought possible. In this state of unity consciousness each person and culture retains and respects the uniqueness of others. This is necessary for the continued evolution of the soul and for humans as a species.  As we awaken together, we heal the wounds and stories of our ancestors throughout time for generations to come.

Message: Trust in our knowing and transform our knowledge into wisdom.  We are now seeing what the great sages of the world have been teaching for thousands of years. Let compassion, love and nonjudgment reframe our awareness of our life and those around us. Take another look at something we had dismissed and see it from the perspective of the compassionate soul.

“All our knowledge has its origins in our perceptions.” – Leonardo DaVinci

Awakened Self

The awakened self sees the one and all in everything. Carl Jung focused on integrating the opposite aspects of the conscious and unconscious mind to deepen the sense of self. He saw that the human psyche was by nature religious, seeking to understand the meaning of life and death.  This led to the creation of stories and religions that separated the soul.  He believed that to heal the soul it would require a journey within to meet the self and the divine at the same time. He saw the concept of archetypes as the shared experiences of being human.

It is through these archetypes that we can awaken the self.

The story of the Garden of Eden symbolizes the archetypal separation of the human psyche from the soul.  Jung saw the tree as an archetype of the human psyche. He saw the mandala as the archetype of wholeness, where the self and the soul become one. When the self reaches this level of awareness, also called enlightenment, moksha, nirvana etc.… the ability to see through time and space becomes accessible with a single thought. Life becomes infinitely expansive as awareness radiates in all directions in every dimension. This might sound mind blowing but it is what many seekers seek, bliss. It is pure and uncluttered, there are no worries or pretenses. We just are.

Message: See ourself as a soul having a human experience. Sense the infinite world within us. Whatever troubles we are experiencing are merely temporary. Look around and see the miracles of life. Feel gratitude by rising above the mundane.

“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” – Rumi
