17_Fire - Tetrahedron - Solar Plexus

The solar plexus is named for Sol, the Latin word for Sun, which is symbolic with the element of fire. Fire releases heat through a process known as combustion. The sun as the core of our solar system is our primary source of energy, heat and light.

Our sun is a yellow dwarf star that formed 4.6 billion years ago. The temperature of the sun’s surface is approx. 10,000° Fahrenheit, at its core it reaches 27 million degrees. It’s a ball of gas (hydrogen & helium) held together by its own gravity.

Our digestive system also functions like a finely tuned furnace, maintaining a temperature of 98.6° Fahrenheit.

The Sun was central to many cultures throughout the world for its life-giving properties. By recording the sun’s movement, they determined the dates of the equinoxes and solstices.

These ancient astronomers created solar calendars to track the seasons of the year as they shifted from hunter-gatherers to agricultural societies. This shift marked the beginning of a more linear way of thinking that some refer to as the Arian (Aries) Age. The Arian Age, which began around 2100 BCE, was seen as an age of fire and war. It is also when the Egyptian Pharaoh, Akhenaten decreed the Sun God “Aten” as the one supreme deity. The Roman’s revered the Sun as the Sol Invictus, the invincible one. When the Roman’s replaced their polytheistic belief system with the monotheistic belief of a Christian God, the Sun transformed into the Son of God. This disempowered many from knowing their divine connection to the sun.

Message: Fire and sunlight hold life-giving properties that feeds our soul. It is important for us to become more conscious of the foods we eat as well as the thoughts and intentions we take in. Create a sacred fire ceremony to cleanse the emotional and energetic body. Meditate with fire to balance the power growing within. Honor the sun for the joy and life that it brings. Become conscious of how to manifest this energy within us.

“Labor to keep alive in your breast that little spark of celestial fire, called conscience.” – George Washington
