Heart Chakra – Sacred Geometry – Flower of Life
Our heart chakra blossoms within the Flower of Life. This is where the days and nights of our lunar months and solar years are woven into one nurturing and harmonizing story.
The Flower of Life is formed when a ring of twelve circles are added to the seven circles in the Seed of Life. These twelve additional circles represent the 12 moons, or lunar month of 29.5 days within a lunar year as well as the 12 constellations of the zodiac. The word “zodiac” is Greek for “ring of animals” and represents the archetypal stories that humanity saw in the stars. Together they form a matrix of 19 interlocking circles, which is the exact number of years it takes to synchronize a lunisolar calendar, due to the seasonal drift of a lunar year.
This harmony is achieved by adding a 13th lunar month, seven times, within a 19-year lunisolar cycle. This process became known as a Metonic cycle, named for Meton of Athens from 432 BCE. Earlier cultures had been adding extra moons into their calendars to harmonize the cycles of the moon and the sun. This cycle honors the eternal union of the moon and sun. This harmonious cycle helped humanity evolve from hunter-gatherers into agrarians, who could begin to settle in one place and plant seeds for food.
The Flower of Life is a divine blossom brought forth by the fertile union of the sun and moon. This blossom of seven independent circles is found within the matrix of nineteen interlocking circles.
The number seven represents divine order and the seven days of the week: Monday-Moon, Tuesday – Mars, Wednesday – Mercury, Thursday-Jupiter, Friday-Venus, Saturday-Saturn, Sunday- Sun.
The Flower of Life also contains the diagram of the Tree of Life matrix also known as the Kabbalah in Jewish mysticism. The Kabbalah represents the mystical journey of the soul as it descends into human form and then consciously ascends to divine oneness. Leonardo Da Vinci (1452-1519) studied the hidden wisdom of the Flower of Life. He felt it represented alchemy and the transmutation of the spirit within the earthly body where the soul becomes a unified “one”.
Message: Be open to the hidden wisdom in our soul. This wisdom is becoming more accessible as we begin to see with our hearts instead of our eyes. Just as we appreciate the gifts of others, it is time to appreciate the gifts within us. A bud is never fully realized if it does not blossom. Now is a time of opening, to honor the person we are becoming.
“There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” – Anais Nin
