Sphere

21_Light - Sphere - Crown

The sphere is associated with the element of light, which is associated with our crown chakra. Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) a German astronomer, enclosed the platonic solids within spheres representing the six known planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn). Technically a sphere is not considered a platonic solid because it isn’t a polygon, but platonic solids were understood to be encased within a sphere.

Our Sun is a sphere, which is also our primary source of light. The six known planets were all created by the electromagnetic energy of our Sun, located in the center of our solar system. Our Sun is also a star, and like all stars it emits light that can be seen many lightyears away. The electromagnetic spectrum of light makes upless than 5% of all ordinary matter.

The remaining 95% of our universe contains 68% dark energy, which expands the universe and 27% dark matter, which holds the universe together. We tend to be drawn to the light but we live in a universe filled with unmanifested darkness. This can be seen as pure potential waiting to become manifest. Light that is actually visible to the human eye represents less than 2.3% of the 5% electromagnetic spectrum of light. This visible light is created by narrow wavelengths of pure spectral colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.Infrared light (below red) and ultra violet (above violet) are made up of frequencies invisible to the humaneye. This full electromagnetic spectrum of light includes: visible light rays, ultraviolet waves, radio waves, microwaves, infrared waves, X-rays and gamma rays.

Light represents our sacred connection to source as we seek to understand and connect to the infinite nature of our soul.

Message: Create a daily routine that balances the light and the dark aspects that are playing out in our life right now. Balancing darkness and light is an important dynamic in all aspects of our life. Both are necessary to maintain optimum health physically and spiritually. If we fear the dark it is time to make peace with it. Think of darkness as the unmanifested potential that lies within us. If the dark represents fear, remember that we are the one projecting this fear. When we own our projections, we realize that we are the only ones who can change it.  If sleep is an issue create a darker environment in the bedroom and establish a nourishing nighttime ritual that calms the senses. If we avoid the light we should go outside and make peace with the sun and the moon in moderation.

“We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light.” – Evelyn Dunbar
