Star Tetrahedron

18_Love - Star Tetrahedron - Heart

The star tetrahedron represents the union of love and strife. Empedocles (c.490–430 BCE) was a Greek philosopher who identified the four classical elements of fire, air, water and earth. He also believed that love attracts the energetic nature of the elements together while strife separates them.

This union can be seen in push-pull of magnetic energy found in magnets, where magnetic poles (positive and negative) are attracted to each other, while the same poles (positive or negative) if pointing toward each other will be repelled.

The Yin Yang symbol also reflects this harmony of opposing forces that are forever interdependent, for one cannot exist without the other.

The star tetrahedron, also known as a Merkaba, consists of two counter-rotating tetrahedrons that have joined together as one. The upward-pointing tetrahedron is symbolic of the sacred masculine (yang) energy of fire andair; while the downward-facing tetrahedron represents the sacred feminine (yin) energy of water and earth. This elemental energy resides within our heart chakra, which generates 60% more electromagnetic energy than our brain.

These two tetrahedrons also represent the combined energy and insight of the three “earthly” chakras (root, sacral and solar plexus) with the three “ethereal” chakras (throat, third eye and crown). The heart is the core connecting point where are earthly body and ethereal mind join together as one. This joining is the also the place of our soul that senses things beyond what we can see our touch.

We can feel the energy when our heart opens and expands in the presence of profound love, we can also feel it when our heart closes when we are surrounded by chaos or fear. Our heart can sense love and strife without saying a word, it will often react before our mind is able to comprehend what is happening. This is why it is so important to practice seeing with our heart instead of our eyes.

Message: Love and strife are both influencing our life right now. Allow this flow to occur and become conscious of what needs our attention. If you are feeling unbalanced or disconnected take the time to listen deeply to what your heart is saying. Making peace within ourselves is the most important act of love we can give to others.

“Love is not a thing to understand.
Love is not a thing to feel.
Love is not a thing to give and receive.
Love is a thing only to become and eternally be.”

 – Sri Chinmoy
