Icosahedron

16_Sacral Chakra - Water - Icosahedron

Our sacral chakra connects us with the energy of water. The Icosahedron is a polyhedron with 20 equal triangular faces. It represents the element of water.

Our body is roughly 75% water, without water we can only survive for three days. Earth’s surface is 71% covered in water, which supports all life in earth. In essence, water is life.

Water is a powerful and creative force that is fed by the oceans in a process of evaporation, condensation and rain known as the hydrologic cycle. This life-giving cycle brings chaos in the form of thunderstorms, lightening and floods as well as much needed water for the creation and growth of plants and animals along with breathtaking rainbows.

In the ancient world, water was seen as the source of life itself, yet the stories of a great flood nearly destroyed the very life it created. It is this sacred balance between creation and destruction, chaos and beauty that feeds our own desire to create. This desire to create and or destroy is associated with our sacral chakra as the place of our reproduction system.

To know the limits of our desires yet maintain the right balance in order to create is a continual process. Just as water ebbs and flows so do our feelings and interests. Water represents the essence of our creative desire. By respecting the power of water and its life-giving beauty, we gain a deeper sense of our own ability to create as we work through life’s challenges.

In the practice of Feng Shui, the elements of wind and water are in constant opposition to each other yet they come together in harmony to form Chi, or life force energy. This life-force energy is universal and all-encompassing.

Message: Water is reminding us that the power of chaos is a creative and necessary force that will ultimately bring balance to all areas of our life. Connect with the power of water to help cleanse, replenish and heal. Flow with the changes that are flowing within. Be open to creating a new way of living, that works in harmony with your surroundings.

“In the world there is nothing more submissive and weak than water. Yet for attacking that which is hard and strong nothing can surpass it.” – Lao Tzu
